Snow Ice Cream
Let it snow! Let it Snow!
It’s snowing in Oxford with an 8-12″ forecast. To make ice cream out of snow, you need enough snow to scoop clean snow off the top. Also, it’s best to collect in an open area and not under trees. The snow we’re getting today is perfect.
Growing up in Jackson, Mama always made Snow Ice Cream when we had a big snow but I never knew how she made it. After searching the internet, I found several recipes but this one was the easiest. However, if you don’t have sweetened condensed milk, you can use milk and sugar as a good substitute. Enjoy the snow and the day off.
Ingredients
8-12 cups clean fresh snow
1 can Sweetened condensed milk*
2 t. vanilla
Toppings of choice
*A good substitute for the condensed milk is a cup of milk and 1/2-1 c. sug
